Which is.I mean, I don't want to just insult their intelligence or anything, but it's not some subtle, obscure piece of trivia. I'm not saying the humanity system must never be modified or anything, but the pre-alpha and alpha seem to indicate that the people in charge of the new White Wolf literally don't understand why the humanity system was in the game.
That's why it's called a "storytelling game of personal horror." It's a system where you die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. The basic premise of VtM is that you have two primary goals (surviving and retaining your humanity), which can often come into conflict, forcing you to make unpleasant decisions that reflect on your character's priorities. Frankly, the humanity system is so core to the concept of VtM that I have no hope for a good version of V5.
